Genesis 3:8-9 (ESV)
And they heard the sound of the LORD God walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and the man and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the LORD God among the trees of the garden. But the LORD God called to the man and said to him, “Where are you?”
Apparently this was a usual scene – God walking with Adam and Eve in the garden He had designed for them. It seems to have been a time of “lingering longer” – no hurry. But this time they weren’t ready because of their shame of disobedience. For whatever reason, sometimes I am not ready to “walk” with God. I may not be ready because of all the “stuff” I get tied up with – “gotta” do this or that. But God seeks to walk with me. So where am I? Where are you? Are you ready to walk with God? Let’s be ready to walk with Him. Let’s linger with Him.
