Glenda’s Glimplses: Faithful Walk

December 29, 2013

Genesis 5:22

Enoch walked with God after he fathered Methuselah 300 years and had other sons and daughters.

Hmm, sometimes it is difficult to have that “cool of the evening” (or morning) walk with God.  It can be a challenge to “linger longer” with the Lord.  Many biblical translations of this verse say Enoch walked faithfully with God. To walk faithfully with Him once our “Methuselah” or Jennifer or Brian or Yolanda is born can truly get tricky. No longer is our time our own. The demands of a family make it more difficult to have that special “walk time” with God. We have to be more intentional, plan or carve out the time.  That is vital for our walk with Him.  But, I believe we also have to allow God to be there with us as we are in the middle of the busyness of family, work, even recreation life. To truly walk faithfully with God, we don’t have Him wait until we get back to Him. We make Him a part of everything we do. What helps you “carve out” time to linger with God? What helps you to allow Him to be in your day? I’d love to hear.

  1. Love your insight and inspiration into the scriptures. They have become part of my daily devotional and “walk.” Keep’em coming. Thank you. In Him, Diana
