About Jim & Glenda

Born and raised in Madera, California, Dr. James D. (Jim) Buckley began his ministry in 1968, the same year that he and Glenda Olson of Ontario, Oregon, were married. They have five married children and 17 grandchildren.

Jim’s ministries have been with families, children and youth, as well as serving as a chaplain in a Christian college.

For 28 years he served as lead pastor of Newbury Park First Christian Church (www.npfcc.org). Six  years ago his ministry changed to be the teaching pastor for the church. This change allowed him time to expand his teaching role as an adjunct professor with the TCM International Institute(www.tcmi.edu) based in Austria.

His teaching at the Institute since 2008 has included courses on Marriage and Family Life Education, in addition to Transformational Leadership.  Jim continues to serve with a pastor’s heart in various areas of ministry, including his continued ministry in his local church and his teaching some of the 900 students at TCMII from Central & Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

Jim has an M.T.S (Masters in Theological Studies) from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary and a D. Min. (Doctor of Ministry) from Fuller Theological Seminary.

In 2013, Jim walked across America while Glenda drove a 22-foot RV and was by his side the entire way.  You can read about it in their book they wrote together: WALKING ACROSS AMERICA:  One Step at a Time.
